An auto - wings of a horseman
The modern nomad, like his ancestors, is a man of the world. A person of movement, for whom speed is vital, and today comfort also becomes significant. A special place in the life of nomads was occupied by the riding horse.
The Kazakhs say "Yer kanaty - at" i.e. "A horse - the wings of a horseman".
Nomads have always taken very good care of their horses, fed them with selected feed, decorated them, and tried to deliver their individuality through the appearance of horses.
Today, life has changed a little. And the horse too. Now it's an automobile.
Museofnomad editors spoke with Frank Tiemann, Director of Communications for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia, on this topic.
Today, we want to draw parallels and understand what kind of car modern nomads choose. How to emphasize individuality when choosing a car?
Many of our clients lead extremely international lifestyles. The main house can be located in Almaty or London, the summer residence - on the French Riviera, and the winter chalet - in “Krasnaya Polyana” or the Swiss Alps. Modern nomads have an intense pace of life, they manage several businesses while traveling between Milan, Moscow, and Beijing. Certainly, there are as many reasons to invest in a Rolls-Royce vehicle as there are more than 44,000 colors in our palette. However, they share a common denominator - the desire for something unique. A truly individual car that conveys its character, lifestyle, or is a reminder of something important. Inspiration is all around us. Our Bespoke program is responsible for customization, and it is much more than just a list of options. The possibilities of Bespoke are limited only by a client’s imagination.
We know that when creating automotive masterpieces, the Rolls-Royce team finds inspiration in a variety of things. What influence has nature had on their work?
The founder of the brand, Henry Royce, once formulated the company's philosophy: "take the best that exists and make it better." We still follow this principle, which applies to both technologies and materials. In the Rolls-Royce cabin you are surrounded by the finest materials, carefully selected and pleasant leather, “open-pore” wood panels that provide a tactile pleasure - everything you see and touch is a natural material. In addition, nature is an infinite source of inspiration.
You have cars designed to drive in the most severe conditions - in the desert, off-road - a real car for a nomad, how did you manage to maintain luxury in this case?
With every Rolls-Royce model, we strive to create the best car in the world. It must satisfy the expectations of the most demanding customers. The driving experience is definitely one of the key elements - we call it the “flying carpet effect”. The impressive power is combined with smooth acceleration and an almost silent ride. Cullinan, the Rolls-Royce of the SUV world, was designed to deliver this experience in all road conditions – luxury on any surface. Clearly, luxury is in the eye of the beholder.
