Abidzhamil Nurpeisov has passed away

Writer Abidzhamil Nurpeisov died at the age of 98. This was announced by the deputy of Majilis Zhanarbek Ashimzhanov.

“A classic writer, veteran of the Second World War, famous coryphaeus Abidjamil Nurpeisov, has died. The man with a big heart, who experienced fully harsh periods that humanity had to overcome, died, almost being one hundred years old,” Zhanarbek Ashimzhanov wrote on his Facebook page.

Abidjamil Nurpeisov was born on October 22nd, 1924, in the Kyzylorda region, in the village Ushkon of Kulandy, Aral region. He is the national writer of Kazakhstan, one of the classics who contributed largely to the Kazakh literature of the 20th century, a public figure.

The veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, political worker in a mortar company near the Luhansk, Southern, and Baltic fleets, participated as a staff officer in the Battle of Courland near Baltiysk.

The trilogy "Blood and Sweat", dilogy "The Last Duty" is a rich heritage not only of A. Nurpeisov but of the entire Kazakh literature. The worthy masterpiece of the writer was highly appreciated by the people and the state. As a writer, he was awarded the orders "Red Banner of Labor", "Badge of Honor", the Order of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Otan". He is also a laureate of the USSR State Prize. In Kazakhstan, only three writers received this honorary award: Mukhtar Auezov, Abidjamil Nurpeisov, and Zhuban Moldagaliev.
