Members of TURKSOY met in Brussels

According to the Kazakh Embassy in the Kingdom of BelgiumSecretary-General of the international organization of Turkic culture TURKSOY Dusen Kasseinov, Permanent Representative of Turkey to the EU Mehmet Bozay, Ambassadors of the Central Asian countries in Brussels, and members of TURKSOY met to discuss the achievements and prospects of cooperation and agreed to hold joint events in 2021 in the European Parliament and other EU and Belgian institutions in order to promote the values ​​and culture of the Turkic peoples.

 

 

The interlocutors welcomed the results of the VIII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States and the decision to change the name of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council) to the Organization of Turkic States.

The decision to change the name of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States to "Organization of Turkic States" was taken on November 12, 2021, during the VIII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States. The international organization of Turkic culture, TURKSOY, was established in 1993 after the signing of an agreement by the ministers of culture of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey.
