Kazakhstani Ildar Yagyaev set a new world record in streetlifting
The Mangistau athlete won the world championship in pull-ups on the horizontal bar in Helsinki. For the sixth year in a row, he has become the best in the world.
Ildar Yagyaev set a new world record by pulling himself up with 96.5 kilograms. As a president of the Street Lifting and Workout Federation of the Mangistau region, he shared his plans for the development of this sport in the region.
“Our main goal is to popularize streetlifting and street workout in the region. To this end, together with the team, we constantly hold various events and free training for athletes. Now we have found a sponsor and are planning to build a training field on the coast of the Caspian Sea, such as Muscle Beach in Los Angeles,” Ildar Yagyaev said in his interview for the lada.kz portal.
The competition, which was attended by athletes from more than 20 countries, was held in 6 weight categories. The total prize pool was $10,000.
